It’s the one year anniversary of Comedy Gives Back Laugh Aid, the creation of Comedy Gives Back co-founders Amber J Lawson, Jodi Lieberman and Zoe Friedman. Comedy Gives Back Laugh Aid was an 8 hour live streamed event that brought together the biggest stars in comedy to raise money for comedians in need.
In March of 2020 when comedy clubs around the country were shutting down, Lawson, Lieberman and Friedman realized the need to help comedians who depended on live shows for income. They also thought the country could use some laughs.
The trio acted quickly and assembled a powerhouse of talent to join Comedy Gives Back on 4/4/20: Ray Romano, Iliza Shlesinger, Howie Mandel, Nikki Glaser, Bill Burr, Marc Maron, Patton Oswalt, Whitney Cummings, Jim Gaffigan, Ken Jeong, Adam Sandler, Dave Attell, Dane Cook, Jessica Kirson, Bert Kreischer, Big Jay Oakerson, Tom Papa, Jeff Ross, The Sklar Brothers, Bob Saget, Amanda Seales, Dan Soder, David Spade, Taylor Tomlinson and Gina Yashere were some of the comedians who showed up for the comedy community that day.
Because of those comedians as well as producers, team members, sponsors and donors, Comedy Gives Back Laugh Aid was able to help comedians in need during the pandemic.
