Thanks to an Adam Sandler clip gone viral, IHOP is donating proceeds from their shake sales on May 10 to Comedy Gives Back.
Last week, a video of Adam Sandler being turned away at a New York IHOP spread across social media. Sandler responded by tweeting:
For the record, I only left the IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn’t apply to the milkshakes.
IHOP responded by promoting #MilkshakeMonday, a day where Long Island locations will sell all-you-can-drink shakes, a nod to Sandler's tweet. IHOP will make a donation to Comedy Gives Back for all shakes sold.
While only Long Island IHOP restaurants are providing bottomless shakes, proceeds from sales of shakes sold nationwide on Monday will also benefit Comedy Gives Back (up to $50,000).
“We are thrilled to celebrate ‘Milkshake Monday’ at IHOP in the spirit of a cheeky smile for a good cause,” said Amber J. Lawson, CEO, Comedy Gives Back. “A delicious meal of pancakes and milkshakes can make you happy any time of day, and while we could all use a laugh right about now, some could use a lot more. A handful of comedians are household names, but the majority are not; we are grateful for IHOP’s support to help working comedians stay afloat in this challenging time.” (source)
